Michele Steckler is a producer at heart, expert in leading creative process and collaboration. As a speaker, consultant and facilitator, she creates shared learning experiences where people tap into their gifts and develop confidence and courage to follow their unique path toward meaning and purpose. Her expansive career in the theatre, from avant-garde stage manager to Broadway producer, provides the foundation for her unique model of practice called Producing Your Life. Sharing concepts used to produce and maintain complex Broadway musicals, Michele creates collective, interactive learning experiences that celebrate real time, face-to-face human connection. Passionate about investing in people and honoring the human instinct to connect, Michele partners on diverse projects in the arts, business and education, supporting people to develop the skills and capacity needed to grow and thrive in the 21st century.
Michele honed her leadership skills as she toured the globe with composer Philip Glass, worked with Eve Ensler on her inaugural V-Day event and played a principal part in the creation and rollout of The Lion King on Broadway and around the world. Her tenure with Disney Theatrical Group began in 1997 as the original Assistant Director on The Lion King, later becoming Senior Vice President and Senior Producer overseeing The Lion King, Tarzan, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and Peter and the Starcatcher. Michele’s approach to facilitation and strengthening inner leadership capacity is based on experiential knowledge developed over decades of producing and leading highly successful creative and production teams across North and South America, Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia.
Equally comfortable onstage, in a conference room or classroom, Michele builds a foundation of trust that fosters collaboration, creativity and risk taking. Deeply passionate about nurturing young leaders, building multi-generational connections and supporting women, Michele is a faculty member with Coming Into Your Own, an international leadership program for women. The CIYO retreats are designed to support women of all ages to listen, explore and develop the skills and capacity to lead from the inside out. Michele’s engagements educate, entertain and inspire senior executives, students, healthcare professionals, social entrepreneurs, artists and a host of others. Dedicated to awakening personal power across all generations, Michele is inspired by the power of individual expression and the collective wisdom that emerges when people work together toward a shared vision and purpose.
